Escrow Courier Networks Limited (“Escrow Courier”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) explains here how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Vendor Interface App. By using the app, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1) Information We Collect
a) Information you provide directly
- Business details, contact person, phone number, email address, business address, KRA PIN (where applicable)
- Parcel booking details: recipient name, mobile number, pickup location, parcel contents description, weight, declared value (mandatory for COD)
- Payment and settlement details: bank account or M-Pesa wallet information
- Parcel photos captured live using the in-app camera (gallery/uploads not accepted)
b) Information collected automatically
- Device data (model, OS, app version, device identifiers)
- App usage logs (screens accessed, session duration, errors)
- Timestamps and metadata for each parcel photo
- Location data (if enabled, to improve pickup/drop-off and detect fraud)
c) Information from third parties
- Payment verification from Safaricom M-Pesa, banks, or other partners
- Compliance/verification data from regulators
2) How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve parcel booking, delivery, and settlement services
- Process and settle Cash on Delivery (COD) payments
- Verify vendor identity and prevent fraud
- Document parcel condition with live photos for dispute resolution
- Send operational messages (delivery updates, account alerts)
- Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations
- Monitor app usage and fix technical issues
3) Sharing of Information
We do not sell or rent your information. We share only with service providers (pickup agents, payment processors, IT support), regulators, or in case of merger/acquisition.
4) Cash on Delivery (COD) Payments
COD transactions are processed via M-Pesa STK push. Handling fees are deducted before settlement. Transactions are encrypted and logged.
5) Data Retention
Vendor data is retained as needed for services, legal, and compliance. Parcel photos are kept for the lifecycle of the order + 24 months, or longer if under investigation.
6) Security of Information
- End-to-end encryption of sensitive data
- Role-based access controls
- Secure cloud storage with backups
- Audit logs to detect misuse
While we use strong safeguards, no system is 100% secure. Internet transmission carries inherent risks.
7) Your Rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data (subject to legal retention). Opt-out of non-essential communications.

8) Children’s Privacy
The app is intended for businesses, not individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
9) International Transfers
If you use the app outside Kenya, your data may be transferred to jurisdictions with different data laws. Transfers comply with applicable regulations.
10) Permissions We Request
- Camera (mandatory): capture live parcel photos
- Location (optional): improve pickups, prevent fraud
- Notifications: delivery updates and alerts
We do not access microphone, contacts, call logs, or calendar.
11) Account and Data Deletion
Request via app settings or [email protected]. Data required for tax, compliance, or disputes will be retained as restricted until deletion.
12) Updates to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted in-app and on our website. Continued use indicates acceptance.
13) Compliance and Governing Law
This policy complies with the Kenya Data Protection Act (DPA) 2019. Governed by the laws of Kenya. Disputes subject to Kenyan jurisdiction.
